Bandography

I play the drums and have been in many bands over the years. Alas none have ever amounted to anything. Certainly none were signed, but several recorded demos and most gigged.

I thought maybe it was time to document the facts as I remember them! There have been at least 10 other bands... these are the ones I can remember! Maybe the others will come back to me.

The dates are just a rough guide.

Timeline 

1989-90 

Meltdown

The first. The only gig we did was a bizarre lunch time gig in the lecture hall of the secondary school we went to at the time. It was jam packed and I still have a home video of the event somewhere!

1991

Blasphemy

Used to commute from Leicester where I lived with my Mum to Gloucester where I used to live with my Grandparents. We did a few gigs around the Gloucester/Cheltenham area. Remember one in particular where the lead guitarist had a broken leg and did the gig in a wheelchair.

1993-94 

Aftermath/Acrypha

Leicester based Thrash/Death Metal band. We had a regular slot at a pub in the city. Did a demo of sorts. Polished thrash metal.

1995-96

Shoe Green

Indie band at university. Got on well with the singer Luke. Recorded a demo, but alas I never got a copy 

1995-96

Noisee

Indie band at uni. Great bunch of lads. Lots of gigs, simple songs and Guinness! Probably my favourite band at Uni. Very simple covers of Indie/Punk songs. No hassles whatsoever and everyone was really chilled out. Great fun.

1996 

Not the Comfy Chair

Band with graduates first year at Uni. Joined well known (in Aber) band in it's death throws. Have recording of very last gig:: old cock-rock/Slayer/Old Metallica covers.

1995 

Plan 9

Covers band with the guitarist of Not the Comfy Chair. Technical covers to show off the guitarist really... : / Best guitarist I have ever been in band though, to be fair.

1996-97 

Bloody Stump

Uni band all original stuff. Broke the record for getting a set together and gigging - about four weeks! Years later, the guitarist came to my house for a jam in the basement. On the way home he had a car crash. He lost all recollection, not only the band we had been in, but that he could even play guitar. Very upsetting indeed. His crazy mum clearly blamed me.

1996

Punk Covers band

Lot's a old punk songs for a show put on at the Uni. The play was very pretentious indeed, but playing in the band was a pretty good laugh. Annoyed at how I supported them, and they couldn't even be bothered to come to one of my gigs with Bloody Stump though.

1997

PhysSoc 

One off covers band for the Physics Society party one year. Me and a load of Professors and Doctors. Great fun! 

1998

Soma 

The fateful band where I first met b.  

1999-2001

Asatru

Viking black metal from the Midlands.

2001-2002

Nihilise

Band with my best man Casey. 

2005-06 

Drink with the Dead

Death metal band based in Wolverhampton.

2007 

Cascade of Darkness

Metal band based in Wolverhampton. Sacked me (quite unfairly I think) for being a drunken lunatic. Unfair? Possibly, but Rock and Roll!!! : )
